Thailand
Where every journey becomes a story
Discover Thailand
Thailand was a dream. I travelled there right after Covid restrictions began to ease and flights resumed. I stayed in Patong Beach, Phuket, at Amari Phuket, and due to the rules at the time, I was only allowed to move around Phuket island. Even within that limit, the trip was full of beauty, adventure, connection, and unforgettable moments.
Stories From Thailand
Staying in Patong & Amari Phuket
I stayed at Amari Phuket in Patong Beach, a beautiful resort perched on a hillside overlooking the Andaman Sea. The views changed with every hour of the day — soft morning light, bright turquoise water at noon, and glowing sunsets in the evening. The sound of the ocean and the warm Thai hospitality made it feel like a sanctuary above the busy streets of Patong.
One of the best parts of this trip was my local friend, who became my guide and family away from home. She showed me around Phuket, introduced me to her family, and welcomed me into everyday Thai life — something I will always value.
Big Buddha & a Moment With a Monk
We visited the Big Buddha, an enormous white statue seated high on a hill overlooking Phuket. The atmosphere was peaceful and spiritual. I met a monk there, which made the experience even more meaningful. The combination of mountain views, temple bells, and quiet reflection made it a powerful moment.
Adventure in Chalong Mountains — Quad Biking & Zip Lining
In the Chalong Mountains, I went quad biking through jungle paths and up into the hills to take in beautiful views. I also went zip lining, gliding between trees and feeling that mix of adrenaline and freedom. The scenery was lush, green, and refreshing — a wild contrast to the beach life below.
Patong Street & Beach Walk
Patong Street and the beach walk were full of life — shops, restaurants, beach bars, music, and people from all over the world. The beach offered golden sand, gentle waves, and an energetic atmosphere both day and night.
Elephant Sanctuary, Shooting Range & Tiger Kingdom
I visited an elephant sanctuary where I bathed with an elephant — an unforgettable and humbling experience. I also went to a shooting range, something completely different and outside my usual routine, and then visited Tiger Kingdom to see tigers up close. The day was a mix of gentle, emotional moments and intense, thrilling ones.
Banana Beach, Racha Island & Coral Island
I took a boat trip to Banana Beach, Racha Island, and Coral Island. Each stop felt like a different piece of paradise — clear blue water, soft sand, and a relaxed island atmosphere. We swam, explored, and soaked in the tropical beauty.
Promthep Cape — Fishing at Sunset
The day ended at Promthep Cape, where I went fishing while watching the sun set over the sea. The sky turned shades of gold, pink, and orange, and the view from the cliffside was spectacular. It was one of the most peaceful moments of the entire trip.
Lunch in Kathu With My Friend’s Family
I visited Kathu and had lunch with my friend’s family. Sharing food, stories, and laughter with them made me feel truly at home in Thailand. It was a reminder that the heart of travel often lies in the people you meet.
Old Phuket Town & Chinese Temple
I walked through Old Phuket Town, known for its vibrant colors, Sino-Portuguese buildings, street art, and cafés. The area felt artistic, historic, and full of character. I also visited a Chinese temple, filled with incense, red lanterns, and quiet reverence — a beautiful expression of the island’s cultural mix.
Karon — Parasailing & Beachfront Lunch
In Karon, I went parasailing and saw the coastline from above, with the sea stretching out into the horizon. Afterwards, I had lunch at a simple but cozy spot — a blanket and a pillow by the beach — enjoying food, the sound of the waves, and the sea breeze.
Coffee in the Patong Mountains
One of my favorite experiences was going up into the Patong mountains to a forest restaurant. We sat with coffee, surrounded by trees, overlooking the whole of Patong below. It was calm, green, and refreshing — a quiet escape above the busy world.
Overview
Thailand is a country of warm people, lush landscapes, island escapes, temples, and incredible food. Even staying only in Phuket, I experienced beaches, mountains, culture, wildlife, and everyday life with locals. It is a destination that can be both relaxing and adventurous, spiritual and exciting — often all in one day.
